I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Council Action: This item will be addressed during the case regarding Waltek's development agreement. Case//7: Change Order No. 2 for Improvement Project//98-21 (Section 28 Sewer and Water Extension) This Change Order (C.O.) was received on April 19 and presented to the Committee as an additional case. The C.O. has several unrelated issues on the project that is extending sewer and water to Section 28 and the Burger King site. Part A involves a $6,553 increase to add concrete curb and gutter *.o the Bury and Carlson yard entrance. This addition was requested by Bury and Carlson and '-ill be paid for by Bury and Vision Ease. The Committee recommended approval contingent upon Bury and Carlson agreeing to reimburse the City for these costs. Part B invo!ves the removal of a culvert under 143*a at Ramsey Boulevard, whi,,h no longer needs to be reinstalled following construction. This part of the C.~. results in a $2,320 decrease in contract price. ':' Part C involves the extension of the length of jacking needed un,Set the raikoad track. This was found to be necessary because of numerous utilities found ac2jacent to the tracks, and the previous plan was for open trench construction. This part of the C.O. increases the project cost $5,351. " Part D involves the addition of a two-foot barrel section that was discovered to t~ve an excessive number of adjusting rings. Excess rings make access difficult and hazardous. This part of the C.O. results in an additional cost of $396. The Committee recommended authorization of Y~arts B, C and D.
