Members were dispatched calls and required to drive to various locations in the City, using their map
reading skills. They were also required to complete incident reports. Course was given by Officer Stolp and
Corporal Dwyer.

GENERAL DUTY:

5 members participated in a total of 50 hours of General Public Safety Aide Duty. During the course of their duties,
the Public Safety Aides conducted business checks, assisted officers with a lost child, a juvenile problem, and a
party call. They also conducted 3 extra patrol details, patrolled area parks, and delivered council packets

SPECIAL DUTIES:

A total of 36 hrs was dedicated by Public Safety Aides towards special details this month.

On 06-05-99, (5) Public Safety Aides assisted Corporal Dwyer and PSA Swadner at the RAMSEY COMMUNITY
PICNIC. The police department had an information booth as well as (2) squad cars on display. They assisted with
KID KARE Photo ID and FATAL VISION GOGGLE demonstrations and handed out crime prevention
information. Their time and dedication (23.5 hfs total) allowed us to continue and expand positive police-citizen
relations.

On 06-17-99, (2) Public Safety Aides conducted the escort of the LAW ENFORCEMENT SPECIAL OLYMPICS
TORCH RUN through Ramsey, ensuring that the participants were safe along the Hwy 10 route.

On 06-19-99, (2) members conducted a Safe and Sober SEAT BELT SURVEY at Hwy 47 and 142 Ave.

On 06-26~99, PSA Johnson volunteered 5 hrs to come in and monitor the police facility while the carpets were
being cleaned. This is required for security purposes. Her presence allowed patrol officers to be out on patrol
instead of stationed here at the office.

RIDE-ALONGS:

2 members participated in a total of 10.5 hours of ride-along with licensed officers. This is primarily a learning
experience for them and is meant to increase their skills and knowledge of what the poliqe department does. Within
their authority, they assist full-time officers as needed.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES: There were no "Teen Nights" this month.

YOUTH / COMMUNITY POLICING ACTIVITIES:

A total of 11 hrs was dedicated towards community policing activities

On 06-30-99, another "Park Patrol" detail was conducted. This is a special volunteer patrol program developed by
Tim Burns himself. During these patrols, PSA's are out at local parks during youth athletic activities. The idea is
focussed on "public relations"; their duties are to interact with the residents and youth attending our parks and
special events. Although PSA presence will help reduce vandalisms and related problems, their main focus is

I

I
