I <br />I <br /> <br />CZTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />I <br />i <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ADMZN1'STRATZVE POLTCY <br />VACATZON DONATI'ON <br /> <br />Effective Date: <br /> <br />Pages: <br /> <br />Upon Adoption by City Council on <br />September :L4f :L999 <br />3 <br /> <br />Prepared by: <br /> <br />Administrative Services <br /> <br />POLZCY PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this policy is to set forth the conditions and procedures under which <br />employees will be allowed to voluntarily donate accrued vacation leave to fellow <br />employees. <br /> <br />Vacation leave time may voluntarily be donated to employees who qualify for Family <br />Medical Leave Act (FMLA) types of absences, as described in the current Family and <br />Medical Leave Policy, and who have little or no accumulated time available. <br /> <br />APPLZCAB:[LITY <br />The provisions of this policy are applicable to all City personnel eligible <br />vacation leave, specifically regular status full-time and part-time employees. <br /> <br />to accrue <br /> <br />]~N GENERAL <br />With the approval of the City Administrator, City employees having accrued vacation <br />leave will be allowed to donate a portion of such leave to fellow employees qualifying <br />for Family Medical types of leaves as defined in the current Family Medical Leave Policy. <br />Pregnancy is not considered eligible for this policy. While pregnancy is not covered <br />under the voluntary donation policy, employees are not prohibited from donating <br />vacation time to those who need it. Donation of vacation leave is strictly on a voluntary <br />basis. <br /> <br />CONDZT[ONS GOVERNTNG DONATTON <br />The donation of vacation leave from one employee to another is governed by the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. An employee is only eligible to receive donated vacation leave for time lost from <br /> work due to qualification for a Family Medical type of leave as defined in the <br /> current Ramsey Family Medical Leave Policy. <br />2. The employee may be required to submit medical certification of the serious health <br /> condition and information regarding its expected duration. <br />3. An employee will only be eligible to receive donated vacation leave after all <br /> accrued sick leave, personal holiday (if available), compensatory time and vacation <br /> leave have been used. <br /> <br /> <br />
