SECTION 8 <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPLEMENTATION <br /> <br /> GENERAL <br /> <br /> This section will present thc recommended improvements to the water supply, distribution <br />and treatment system, and an implementation plan for these improvements. <br /> <br />B. RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br /> 1. Water Supply <br /> We recommend that the City begin construction of new wells as outlined in Section 3. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey foresees an immediate potential shortage of water supply capacity. The <br />proposed schedule for wells is as shown in Table 8. I. <br /> <br /> 2. Water Treatment <br /> <br /> We recommend that the City begin planning for construction of a single, 8.1 million <br />gallons/day water treatment facility at the west well field site. This facility will provide improved <br />water quality, as well as capability to meet future water quality needs (i.e. arsenic treatment). <br /> <br /> 3. Water Storage <br /> <br /> We recommend that the City begin the construction ora new 1.5 MG water tower in <br />1999, with completion scheduled for late 2000 to early 2001. The City should also beg/n planning <br />for future construction of'another 1.0 million gallon reservoir.. <br /> <br /> 4. Distribution System Improvements <br /> <br /> We recommend that the City begin planning for the 5-year capital improvements outlined <br />in Section 6 for distribution system improvements.
