An indication in writing from the Public: Utilities <br />Commission that a crossing permit may be granted shall also be submitted before the <br />preliminary plat can be approved. <br /> <br />Street Intemection~. Under normal conditions, streets shall be laid out so as to intersect <br />as nearly as possible at fight angles, except where topography or other conditions justi~ <br />variations. Under normal conditions, the minimum angle of intersection of streets shall <br />be eighty (80) degrees. Street intersections less than one hundred twenty-five (I25) feet <br />apart, as measured from right-of-way to right-of-way, shall be avoided. <br /> <br />~_ubdivJsions Abutting Major_Ki~t_s~of-Wav. Wherever the proposed subdivision <br />contains or is adjacent to the right-of way of a U.S. or State Highway, or railroad, <br />provision shall be made for a frontage road appro,,dmately parallel and adjacent to the <br />boundasy of such right-of-way, provided that due consideration is given to proper u'affic <br />circulation. Such frontage roads shall be locamd at a distance from said rights-of-way <br />suitable for the appropriate use of uhe intervening land. Such distance :shall be <br />determined with due consideration of the minimum distance required for approach <br />connections to future grade separations, or for lot depths. <br /> <br />(g) ~. A paved sidewalk or pedestrian pathway not less than five (5) feet, in width <br /> is required on each side of the paved surface of any street to be constructed in a <br /> proposed plat. See Section 610:15 and the City's approved standard spec/fications <br /> adopted by the City Council pursuant thereto. When a sidewalk parallels a street ending <br /> in a cul-de-sac, the sidewalk need not encircle the cul-de-sac but may continue upon its <br /> parallel course until it intersects with the pavement of the cul-de-sac and may there <br /> terminate. Except where justified by special conditions related to the health, safety., welfare <br /> or convenience of the public, alleys will not be approved. <br /> <br />(1) Alleys, where provided, sha/l not be less than thirty (30) feet w/de. <br /> <br />(2) Dead-end alleys shall be avoided wherever possible, but if unavoida,ble, such <br /> dead-end alleys may, be approved if adequate turnaround facilities are provided at <br /> the closed end. <br /> <br /> <br />
