RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> BODY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />6" Front Suction <br />FRONT STEAMER <br /> <br />There shall be an auxiliary steamer inlet located on front of the apparatus. Auxiliary inlet shall <br />be plumbed with five inch pipe and have 6" NST continuous swiveling adapter furnished with <br />chrome plated brass cap. Auxiliary inlet shall have an electrically actuated butterfly valve with a <br />control switch located on the pump operators panel with an indicator light or gauge. Auxiliary <br />steamer shall be connected to the pump with a victaulic type coupling. There shall be two air <br />operated drains furnished on the front suction pipe. One drain shall be located in front of the <br />front wheel and one drain shall be located behind the front wheel. The drains are to be located <br />on the bottom side of the front suction pipe. The drains should be capable of being used to bleed <br />air out of the front suction pipe. There shall be a 12 volt switch located on the pump operators <br />panel to control the front suction drain/air bleeder valves. <br /> <br />Akron Gated Valves - Galvanized Plumbing <br /> <br />PLUMBING DETAILS <br /> <br />All ball valves shall be Akron brass (or equivalent), full flow, swing out type. All auxiliary <br />inlets, discharges and pre-connects shall be plumbed with schedule 40 galvanized iron pipe or <br />high pressure hose with stainless steel couplings. The 2 1/2" or larger discharge outlets shall <br />have 3/4" quarter turn type bleeder/drains, and chrome plated brass caps with chains. Controls <br />for ail discharges and pre-connects shall be located at the pump operator's panel. <br /> <br />If required, there shall be a discharge manifold furnished for auxiliary discharges. The manifold <br />shall be fabricated of 4" round schedule 40 tube. The discharge manifold shall have welded pipe <br />ports installed where all plumbing lines are attached. The discharge manifold shall be supplied <br />with 4" pipe directly from the pump discharge manifold. <br /> <br />Suction Control Lever Adjacent to Inlet <br />INLET CONTROL LOCATION <br /> <br />Suction control lever(s) shall be located adjacent to inlet(s). <br /> <br />One 1 3/4" Discharge & 2 ½" discharge - Cntr Frt Bmpr (2 1/2" Pip.e) <br />CENTER FRONT BUMPER DISCHARGE <br /> <br />There shall be a 1 3/4" gated discharge outlet furnished in the center front bumper of the <br />apparatus with a continuous swiveling adapter. Front discharge shall be plumbed with a 2 1/2" <br />pipe and valve. The 2 ½" discharge will be located just below the bumper to allow easy access. <br />The t 3/d' outlet will "T" off of the 2 ½" supply. The pipe shall be connected to the pump with <br />victaulic type couplings for ease of maintenance. There shall be an auto drain control furnished <br />at the Iow point of the line.
