RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> BODY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />Four Folding Steps - Front (2 Each Hi~hside) <br />FOLDING STEPS ON FRONT FACE OF BODY <br /> <br />There shall be four (4) folding steps on front compartment faces, two (2) on each side of <br />apparatus. There shall be an 8" grab rail located one on each side of apparatus so as to safely <br />assist when using the step. The grab rails shall be located above the compartments or on the <br />catwalks. The steps shall be spaced no more than 18" apart. Each step shall be capable of <br />sustaining a 500 lb. static load. There shall be a light under each step that shall be activated with <br />the pump panel lights. <br /> <br />Right Side Hydraulic Ladder Rack <br />LADDER MOUNTING <br />HARD SUCTION HOSE MOUNTING <br /> <br />There shall be a fold down ladder rack assembly furnished on the right side of apparatus above <br />the high side compartments. The rack assembly shall accommodate the 24' extension ladder, <br />roof ladder and 2 pike poles. The ladder rack shall be a 12 volt electric/hydraulic actuated pivot <br />assembly to fold ladder rack down from top of the fight side compartment to the side of the <br />compartments. There shall be an automatic safety latch to hold the ladder rack in the stowed <br />position. The safety latch switch and ladder rack switch shall be operated from the fight side <br />pump panel. There shall be a door furnished for access to the actuator and safety lock when <br />service is required. The door shall be hinged and open automatically when the ladder rack is <br />lowered. There shall be a spring loaded latch furnished to hold the ladders on the rack when it is <br />in any position. <br /> <br />Electrical Equipment and Battery System <br />GENERAL ELECTRICAL <br /> <br />All electrical equipment shall be protected by circuit breakers. Switched circuits are to be <br />operated through relays, circuit breakers and relays shall be of a type that is readily available <br />from a local supplier and be easily serviced and or replaced. <br /> <br />Modular power distribution boards shall be utilized in the electrical system. The power <br />distribution boards shall include an LED diagnostic system to indicate the polarity and continuity <br />of input switch signals. The diagnostic system shall also indicate when power is present at each <br />output circuit. These boards shall be located in power distribution panels located in the fight <br />front compartment and the chassis cab. The power distribution panels shall be labeled and have <br />a protective cover. Electrical components in the right front power distribution panel shall be <br />mounted on a permanently marked identification template. Each component shall be labeled and <br />indicate the circuits it is associated with. <br /> <br />Page 25 of 33 <br /> <br /> <br />
