RAMSEY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> BODY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />CHASSIS MODIFICATIONS <br /> <br />There shall be a lubrication plate (NFPA 1901 STD 3-2.3.3) mounted inside cab listing the type <br />and grade of lubrication used in the following areas on the apparatus and chassis: <br /> <br />Engine oil <br />Engine Coolant <br />Transmission Fluid <br />Pump Transmission Lubrication Fluid <br />Pump Primer Fluid <br />Drive Axle Lubrication Fluid <br /> <br />There shall be a chassis transmission gear-shift selector locking device to prevent accidental gear <br />disengagement during pumping operations. (NFPA 1901 STD 4-10.2) Push button gear selector <br />pads do not require a locking device. <br /> <br />At any seat location the maximum noise level shall be 90 dba without any warning devices in <br />operation. (NFPA 1901 STD 3-4.7.3) <br /> <br />All interior crew and driving compartment door handles shall be designed and installed to protect <br />against accidental or inadvertent opening. (NFPA 1901 STD 3-4.7.4) <br /> <br />Head height at any seat shall be at least 37 inches from the seat to the ceiling with the seat <br />depressed 1 inch. Each seating space shall have a minimum of 22 inches at the shoulder level. <br />(NFPA 1901 STD 3-4.7.5) <br /> <br />Controls and switches which are expected to operated by the driver while the apparatus is in <br />motion shall be within convenient reach for the driver. 0'qFPA 1901 STD 3-4.7.9) <br /> <br />Signs that state "Occupants must be seated and belted when apparatus is in motion" shall be <br />provided. They shall be visible from each seated position. An accident prevention sign shall be <br />located at the rear step area of the vehicle. It shall warn personnel that standing on the step while <br />the vehicle is in motion is prohibited. (NFPA 1901 STD 3-4.7.6) <br /> <br />There shall be a pressure protection valve to prevent the use of air horns or other air operated <br />accessories when the system air pressure drops below 80 psi.
