Case #6: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />The Finance Committee met earlier this evening to discuss the following cases: <br /> <br />1) Adopt Resolution Approving Proposed 2004 Payable Tax Levy <br />The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council adopt the resolution Approving the <br />Proposed Maximum 2003, Payable 2004, Tax Levy and to schedule the budget public hearing <br />dates for December 1, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. and a reconvene date of December 8, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Resolution #03- <br />09-242 Approving the proposed maximum 2003, Payable 2004, Tax Levy in the amount of <br />$5,126,112. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice Mayor Zimmerman, and Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, <br />Kurak, Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to schedule the City <br />of Ramsey's initial budget public hearing on Monday, December 1, 2003, at 6:00 p.m., and a <br />reconvene date (if necessary) on Monday, December 8, 2003, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice Mayor Zimmerman, and Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, <br />Cook, Kurak, and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Adopt Resolution Approving Proposed 2004 HRA Levy by EDA <br />The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #03-09-243 <br />approving the recommendation of the EDA and approve the Proposed HRA Levy for Payable <br />2004 and to request a breakdown of potential projects and the costs associated with those <br />projects fi'om the EDA. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice Mayor Zimmerman, and Councilmembers Pearson, <br />Strommen, Cook, Elvig, and Kurak. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Review and Adopt "Proposed" 2004 General Fund Budget <br />The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council adopt the resolution adopting the <br />"Proposed" 2004 General Fund Budget and to direct staff to schedule two to four meetings to <br />review the bndget. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that his main concern is that they are looking at revenues that <br />include fi'anchise fees.
