<br />Bids were opened for the project stated above on Friday, March 13, 1998. Transmitted herewith are ten
<br />(10) copies of the bid tabulation for your information and file. Copies will also be distributed to each
<br />bidder .....

<br />The following summarizes the results of the five bids received.

<br />The loW bidder on the project was EnComm Midwest, LLC with a Base Bid of $223,422.50. These bids
<br />have been reviewed and found to be in order.
<br />
<br />This project was bid with several alternate items. The following recommendations are for each alternate.
<br />
<br />Alternate No. 1 specified the installation of a 16" watermain to be used as a raw water line between Pump
<br />Facility No. 3 and No. 4. Since the county is proceeding with the plans to extend County Road 116, 16"
<br />finish water main in addition to the I0" raw water main will be required along Ramsey Boulevard in the
<br />near future. Since there are no significant cost savings associated with installing the 16" watermain at this
<br />time, we recommend that the City reject this alternate. Total Alternate No. 1 = $74,405.00
<br />
<br />Alternate No. 2 specified a 10' raw water main to be installed between Pump Facility No. 3 and No. 4.
<br />This alternate is the minimum piping alternate necessary io be installed by the City at this time. We
<br />recommend that the City accept this alternate. Total Alternate No. 2 '-- $45,870.00
<br />
<br />Alternate No. 3 specified the installation of both the I0" and J 6" water mains as part of this project. Since
<br />there was no significant cost savings associated with this alternate, we recommend that the City reject this
<br />alternate. Total Alternate No. 3 = $121,285.00
