Mayor Gamec asked if an area can be removed at the final reading of the ordinance, City Attomey Goodrich stated that it cannot. Couneilmember H~s Steffen suggested that action be tabled until staff can report on the depth of the River and whether going to the 5.2 mile marker takes care of it or if it is necessary to include from the area from the 6.3 mile marker to the 7.2 mile marker. Staffcould also have conversation with the City of Andover. Mayor Gamee suggested that the Boy Scout Camp also be contacted to determine if they are or are not having any problems. He stated that he is not aware of any problems but they may have some input. Mayor Gamee stated if action is tabled tonight, it could be acted on at the next meeting. Motion by Councilmember Haas Stetfen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen, to table consideration of an ordinance regulating the operation ofwatereraf~ on the Rum River in the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, to the next Council meeting to allow time for Staff to address the questions raised by the Council. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamee, Council.members Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Mayor &amec stated this issue will be one of the first agenda items at the June 23, 1998, Council meeting. At that meeting, the Council will take final action on this ordinance. Mayor Garnet asked residents who are interested in receiving notice to sign a list provided in the hallway. Councilmember Haas Steffen requested that staff also verify the recent legislation restricting jet skis from the Rum River. Mayor Gamec asked that staff also determine how the Sheriff's Department will accomplish enforcement and whether they will be allowed to use a jet ski. Mike Hanley, 17665 Argon Street NW, stated that he believes jet skis are technically allowed but they must be operated under no wake conditions.
