JUN.-16'981?UB) 16:~1 <br /> <br />TEL:612 42] 9511 <br /> <br />P. 006 <br /> <br />There being no second to this motion, Mayor Cramec declared the motion to be dead. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked if an area can be removed at the final reading of the ordinance, City <br />Attomey Goodrich stated that it cannot. <br /> <br />Couneilmember H~s Steffen suggested that action be tabled until staff can report on the depth of <br />the River and whether going to the 5.2 mile marker takes care of it or if it is necessary to include <br />from the area from the 6.3 mile marker to the 7.2 mile marker. Staffcould also have conversation <br />with the City of Andover. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamee suggested that the Boy Scout Camp also be contacted to determine if they are or <br />are not having any problems. He stated that he is not aware of any problems but they may have <br />some input. Mayor Gamee stated if action is tabled tonight, it could be acted on at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Stetfen and seconded by Councilmember Beahen, to table <br />consideration of an ordinance regulating the operation ofwatereraf~ on the Rum River in the City <br />of Ramsey, Minnesota, to the next Council meeting to allow time for Staff to address the <br />questions raised by the Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamee, Council.members Haas Steffen, Beahen, Beyer, and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor &amec stated this issue will be one of the first agenda items at the June 23, 1998, Council <br />meeting. At that meeting, the Council will take final action on this ordinance. Mayor Garnet <br />asked residents who are interested in receiving notice to sign a list provided in the hallway. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen requested that staff also verify the recent legislation restricting jet <br />skis from the Rum River. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked that staff also determine how the Sheriff's Department will accomplish <br />enforcement and whether they will be allowed to use a jet ski. <br /> <br />Mike Hanley, 17665 Argon Street NW, stated that he believes jet skis are technically allowed but <br />they must be operated under no wake conditions. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case ~r~: <br /> <br />Approval of Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor, On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor and <br />Off-Sale Non-Intoxicating Liquor <br /> <br />Councilrnernber Haas Steffen noted the information provided does not indicate if there were <br />offenses. <br />City Attorney Goodrich agreed that it does not, He requested that the renewal for the Lighthouse <br /> <br />City CounciL/June 9, 1998 <br /> Page 8 of 27 <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
