Monthly Status Report

Frolik/ 6/23/98 Mr. Pritchard of Orin Thompson was present to request
Pending consideration of a street name change - the street in Apple
Ridge being Junkite. He suggested maybe Jade to stick with
the minerals. Council voted to have staff discuss this - make
a recommendation whether or not to change street name - if
recommended to d6' so - schedule public hearing and draft an
ordinance accordingly - in the event Council chooses staffs
recommendation. Place recommendation on the next Council
meeting and if the recommendation is in favor of the name
change - then have the public hearing on the July 14, 1998
Council agenda also. Please take care of necessary
publications.
Frolik/ 6/23/98 With regard to the No Wake - Rum River - Council made the
Pending following motion - To extend the no wake to the Ramsey side
of the river that does not interfere with Andover from our
southern City limits to approximately 149th Avenue and to
direct staff to prepare an ordinance to introduce at the next
Council meeting reflecting the motion. Council also asked
that staff continue to communicate with the City of Andover
to establish their identified area number 4 (151st to 153rd) as
a no wake zone contingent upon Andover eliminating areas 1,
2 and 3 from their no wake proposal.
Frolik/ 6323/98 Council accepted the recommendation of the. Planning
Complete Commission and approved the proposed minor
comprehensive plan amendment to modify the MUSA
boundary to include the proposed Burger King site, and to
direct City staff to forward the amendment to Metro Council
for approval.
Frolik/Pending 6/23/98 Councilmember Haas Steffen came in to the City offices on
Wednesday, and commented that it appeared Mr. Teetzel did
not know what Council was doing, etc. She suggested that a
detailed letter be written to Mr. and Mrs. Teetzel explaining
their CUP and the actions Council took and how their CUP
could be revoked, etc. Councilmember Haas Steffen thought i
that maybe Attorney Goodrich should write the letter - I
thought that it would be better coming from you. If you think
Bill should write the letter, please let me know and I will
forward a copy of this direction to him. Thanks.
