Right-of-Way

Approximately 25 parcels along the corridor will be affected by right-of-way acquisition. The
impact will range from acquiring approximately 8.2 meters (27 feet) along the existing frontage
of some parcels to total acquisition of 11 homes on the west side of TH 47 at 149th Avenue NW.
These homes are being purchased because a minimum, of 8.2 meters (27 feet) is required from
each parcel, which will significantly lower its value. In addition, the opportunity to revise the
access to these parcels with future development by eliminating it from TH 47 is limited. Access
control is a major component of managing the traffic along this corridor.

Relocation 9-

As preyiously stated, approximately 11 single family homes are proposed to be acquired as part
of the project. Comparable housing will be made available for all relocatees and all relocation'
and right-of-way acquisition will be in accordance with the Uniform Relocation and Real.
Property Acquisition Act of 1970, as amended by the Surface Transportation and Uniform
Relocations Assistance Act of 1987 and 49 Code of Federal Regulations, Part 24, effective April
1989.

Social

Safety for the traveling public is expected to be enhanced with the project as accident rates along
this segment of TH 47 drop. In addition, the completion of the trail system will increase safety
of pedestrians and bicyclists and provide better access to schools, churches, and the City park
immediately east of TH 47 on CSAH 116.

Controversy

It is unknown at this time if the project will be controversial. As the environmental process
proceeds and public meetings are held, all issues that are raised will be addressed.

Traffic

Traffic is proposed to be maintained during the construction of this project. Speeds will be
reduced through the construction zone and two-way traffic may be limited to one lane during
certain times.

When the project is completed, traffic operations will improve. Traffic signal construction,
geometric improvements and access control will create a safer and more efficient corridor.
