PLANNI!R.~ 300 FIKST AVENtJ~ NORTH SUITE 210 ~I~NEAPOLIS, MN April 14, 1997 I I I Sylvia Frolik City of Ramsey 15153 Nowthert Boulevard NW Ramsey, MN 55303 I I I I Re: Proposal for Critical Area and MNKKA Grant Dear Ms. Frolik: The purpose of this letter is to outline the process we propose to assist the City in updating its Critical Area Plan and related ordinances as outlined in the City's grant request to the Metropolitan Council for MNR.RA Local Funding Assistance. We have divided the outline into three sections: (1) Work that would be done as part of the Comprehensive Plan process and described in the work program sent last week; (2) work that would be done by the City to assist our work; and, (3) additional work to be completed by DSU. Work to Be Done as Part of the Comprehensive Planning Process Much of the work describe in Tad< 104 related to the Environmental Analysis would be appropriate to updating the City's Critical Area Plan. We would also work closely with the City and the Met Council to ensure $hat the information collected for this section was appropriate for the Critical Area Plan. Some of the mapping would also be of assistance to the City's Critical Area Plans. In addition we would ensure that the work described in the options to the Comp Plan, specifically the open space and neighborhood planning tasks, would be closely related to the Crit/cal Area Plans. Work to Be Done by the City In order to assist DSU in completing the tasks outlined in the City's grant request, it is antic/pated that the City staff will assist with providing relevant data and mapping. Additional mapping sources beyond that which can be provided by Anoka County may also be needed. This ~nclades topographic data for the City. We will work with the City to determine the best way we can get this data for our use during this process. ~002/003
