There are a number of development projects in progress in Ramsey right now° With the <br />City Administrator and Economic Development Coordinator both leaving this month, the <br />City wilt be without staff expertise to deal with queries from potential development <br />clients or to complete the current projects. <br /> <br />It takes approximately three months from the time we advertise a position opening to the <br />time someone arrives to fill the position. Unless the new person is already familiar with <br />the City's development program and business community, there is a certain per/od <br />required to get "up-to-speed." <br /> <br />Staff recommendation: <br /> <br />a) Authorize staff to advertise the position of Economic Development <br />Coordinator at a starting salary range of $24,925 to $29,303 annually, which is <br />the minimum of the salary range to the midpoint of the salary range for the <br />position. <br /> <br />b) Authorize staff to solicit proposals for contract assistance with: <br />1. Responding to inquiries from potential development clients and/or <br />2.
