Case #13: 1998 Legal Contract <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that, upon Council direction, staff negotiated a contract <br />with the law firm of Randall, Dehn & Goodrich. The contract would run for 1998, 1999 and <br />2000. He noted that there is a minor increase in hourly rates but a reduction in the cap. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve the <br />contract with the firm of Randall, Dehn & Goodrich for the period 1998 through 2000. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Haas Steffen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #14: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Review Committee for City Administrator Applications <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith submitted the names to the Personnel Committee <br />of Bill Hunt, Assistant to the City Manager of Fridley, and Melanie Ault, Human Resources <br />Manager for Anoka County, as suggestions for the City Administrator Review Committee. The <br />Personnel Committee suggested another individual also and staff will contact that person. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve the <br />selection of Mr. Hunt and Ms. Ault and to approve the third individual if he is able to ser~e. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) LELS Contract Ratification <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that the Personnel Committee reviewed the <br />LELS Contract and recommended approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution <br />#97-09-292 approving the 1998 - 1999 Labor Agreement with Law Enforcement Labor Services, <br />Inc. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman.
