Absent: Councilmember Peterson. <br /> <br />Voting No: <br /> <br />Case #10: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) Authorize Entering into Contract with North Metro Humane Society for <br /> Animal Control Services <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart explained that the North Metro Humane Society is really the only option the <br />City of Ramsey has for animal control services. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize the City <br />Administrator and Police Chief to enter into and sign the contract for animal control services to be <br />provided by North Metro Humane Society. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen, Beyer and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Peterson. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Authorize Budget Amendment to Purchase Fire Department Lock Boxes for <br />Resale to Local Businesses <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart explained the theory of the lock boxes - the Fire Department would purchase <br />them for resale to the local businesses. In each lock box would be a key and other pertinent fh'e <br />information, so as to prevent as much damage as possible to that building when the Fire <br />Department is gaining entry during an emergency. This option was well received by the business <br />community. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to adopt Resolution <br />g96-08-208 authorizing a budget amendment to purchase Fire Department lock boxes for resale to <br />local businesses. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Peterson. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Authorize Budget Amendment for Acceptance of EMS Grant and Purchase <br />of Automatic Defibrillator Device and Training for the Police Department <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart reported that the City has gained approval for a $4,000 grant offered through <br />the Anoka County Public Health Department. The grant, which is awarded to one applicant per <br />year, is for the purchase of and training for use of an automatic defibrillator device for the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adopt <br />Resolution ~t96-08-209 authorizing a budget amendment for acceptance of EMS Grant and <br />purchase of automatic defibrillator device and training for the Police Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman and Beahen. <br />Voting No: None.
