The officers will continue to be assigned patrol duties in addition to the administrative tasks. <br /> Councilmember Beahen asked when the assignment takes effect. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder stated that the temporary assignment took effect November 8, 1996, <br /> and is expected to continue for approximately eight weeks. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder further noted that a second sergeant position is funded in the 1997 <br /> budget. There has been some discussion about creating two corporal positions rather than a sergeant <br /> position. <br /> <br /> As this report was for the information of the Council, no formal action was necessary. <br /> <br /> Case #2: Consider Reappointments to City Commissions <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder noted that the report to the Committee lists members of commissions <br /> to be either reappointed or declare a vacancy. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hardin asked il'there is an attendance record to indicate the number of meetings missed by <br /> these members. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Schroeder responded that while he does not have the records at the meeting, <br /> attendance has not been an issue for the Planning Commission or Park & Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Beyer suggested appropriate action for those members who have responded in the <br /> affirmative in seeking reappointment and address the remaining positions at the December meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to reappoint David Bawden and <br />Benjamin Deemer to the Planning Commission for another two-year term. <br /> <br /> Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />.Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Coun¢ilmember Beahen to reappoint Todd Cook, Jill <br />Johns and Tom LaMere to the Park & Recreation Commission for another two-year term. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Hardin and seconded by Councitmember Beahen to reappoint Ken Wagner and <br />Carolyn Nelson to the Economic Development Commission for another two-year term. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer.
