Any member whose response is below thirty-three percent (33%) of drills at the end <br />of any quarter year will be notified by the Chief and Assistant Chief. The Fire <br />Department Attendance Policy will govern the action taken. <br /> <br />In considering any of the above the Chief and Assistant Chief shall consider <br />extenuating circumstances, including, but not limited to: work schedules, vacation, <br />family or personal illness, etc. <br /> <br />6. All members will learn to drive and operate all fire vehicles and be able to put into <br /> service all equipment used by the Fire Department in a safe manner. <br /> <br />7. All members will annually submit to the Fire Chief proof of vehicle insurance. <br /> <br />Section 12. Excused Absences <br /> <br />Regular and probationary members will be excused from attendance at any meetings or drills <br />because of vacation, sickness or emergency in his family or inability to attend due to the nature <br />of the member's job. A member must contact the Chief or Assistant Chief prior to the meeting or <br />drill whenever possible to be excused. If any member is late to any drill or meeting, and has not <br />made any previous arrangements, that member will receive credit for the drill but will not receive <br />any pay increments. <br /> <br />Section 13. Duties Upon Alarm <br /> <br />Upon every Fire Station alarm, all Limited Duty Fire Fighters/Trainees, as well as <br />regular members, shall immediately report to the Fire Station, driving in a safe <br />manner, prepared to render all assistance and service in their power. <br /> <br />The first fire fighter reporting to the Fire Station shall post the address of the paged <br />call on the writing board. Thereafter, all fire fighters reporting to the Fire Station <br />shall observe the address on the writing board and locate its route on the map prior to <br />responding on the apparatus. <br /> <br />The fire fighter riding in the captain's seat (passenger seat) of the first arriving <br />apparatus, shall immediately take command of the scene if the Chief or senior ranking <br />officer has not arrived. When a senior officer arrives, they have the option of <br />assuming command of the incident. <br /> <br />No member having reported to the Fire Station or the scene shall leave their duty as a <br />fire fighter unless they are excused by the officer in charge at the Fire Station or <br />scene. <br /> <br />Pa~e 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
