Section 14. heaves of Absence and Withdrawals <br /> <br />Any member that resigns in good standing and wishes to return within one (1) year of <br />the r~signation date, will be allowed to fill the first available opening as a full <br />memoer. <br /> <br />A leave of absence request must be made in writing to the Chief at least two (2) <br />week,5, prior to the time off requested. <br /> <br />3. A maximum of six (6) months leave of absence will be accepted. <br /> <br />4. Any leave of six (6) months will require a three (3) month probationary period where <br /> som~ training requirements may be re-evaluated. <br /> <br />Any :time off will be considered as a non-active member of the Ramsey Fire <br />Depal-tment and will be considered a break in service. Any break in service will be in <br />accordance with the Relief Association By-Laws as per Article VI Section 5. <br /> <br />Section 15. selection of Officers <br /> <br />In January of eaCh year, the Fire Chief will submit a recommended list of Officers to the City <br />Administrator, v~ho will review it and submit it to City Council for approval. <br /> <br />Section 16. (3hief of Department, Duties <br /> <br />The Chief shall have full control over all apparatus, equipment and supplies; and full <br />control and command over all persons who are members of the Department; and shall <br />possess full power and authority over its organization, government and discipline, and <br />to th~it end shall from time to time prescribe and enforce such rules and issue such <br />orderg as the Chief may deem advisable. <br /> <br />The Chief shall at all times supervise and keep in repair and ready for instant use all <br />apparhtus, equipment and supplies used for fire prevention, fire protection and fire <br />fighting. <br /> <br />3. The Chief shall respond to such fires and other emergencies as the Chief deems <br /> advisable and upon arriving shall assume full command thereof. <br /> <br />4. The Chief shall certify all bills against the City chargeable to the Fire Department. <br /> <br />5. The Chief shall keep a record of all fires and causes of and losses incurred in such <br /> fires ~ accurately as such causes and losses can be ascertained. <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
