Planning Proposal for: <br /> <br />Mississippi West Regional Park <br /> <br />; Anoka County Department of Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />M~ter Plan Content Requirements - Information on the Ten Sections <br /> <br /> Listed and discussed below are the ten information sections for the master plan as outlined by the <br />Recreation Open Spa4e Development Guide / Poli~ Plan of 1991. <br /> <br />1. Boundary and Acquisition Costs <br /> <br /> Anoka Countyl does not anticipate any additional acquisition costs or boundary changes associated <br />with the development ~f Mississippi West Regional Park. <br /> <br />2. Stewardship Plan <br /> <br /> The Anoka C°[Jnty Department of Parks and Recreation shows their commitment to and <br />understanding of regional parks by their on-going development, programming, and maintenance of Lake <br />George, Riverfront, Ri~e Creek-Chain of Lakes, Bunker Hills, and Coon Rapids Dam regional parks. The <br /> of Mississippi West Regional Park is a land gift from private individuals. Since March of <br />largest <br /> portion <br />1988, the Anoka Coun~j Department of Parks and Recreation and the individuals gitting the land have had <br />a legal agreement outli~g the land stewardship for the park prior to its development. The agreement <br />outlined the following:~ <br /> <br />a. snowplowing internal park roads <br />b. gras~ cutting along park road and residents <br />c. retai~g one of the residents as a park caretaker with an annual service contract <br />d. construction of boundary fencing to prevent unauthorized access <br />e. construction and maintenance of well water to residents <br /> <br />The resident - park caretaker performs the following park related work: <br /> <br /> a. tree ~lanting and maintenance <br /> ,[ <br /> b. mom~onng unauthorized park uses <br /> c. estab~shment and maintenance ora walking / firebreak trail <br /> <br /> Annual Stewardship Costs <br /> <br /> Listed below arc the annual stewardship costs associated with maintaining Mississippi West <br />Regional Park prior to ~ievelopment: <br /> <br />Boundary Control[- fencing and signing <br />Grass Mowing hnd Snow Removal <br /> p [ <br /> Equi men Maintenance <br />Park Caretaker Arlnual Service Contract <br /> <br />$2,000.00 <br /> <br />$4,000.00 <br />$1,500.00 <br /> <br />$4,000.00 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br /> <br />
