Mr. Herman currently is the Engineer <br />for Big Lake Township. <br /> <br />He h~ had extensive involvement in the design and construction of major municipal sewage <br />collee~on systems in the metropolitan area. This has included ongoing coordination with <br />governmental agencies such as MPCA, MN/DOT, MWCC, DNR, the Minnesota Department of <br />Heal~ and numerous watershed districts and utility companies. Additionally he has worked <br />extens.~ely in such municipalities as Coon Rapids where he managed projects for over twenty <br />years and more recently in Savage. He has worked on special projects in many metropolitan <br />communities as well as townships and municipalities around the state. <br /> <br />As project Engineer for BRW, Inc. (1978-1991), Mr. Hei'man was responsible for all Civil <br />Engineering projects. He was the project manager responsible for design and construction of <br />major,sanitary sewer interceptor projects for the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission. He <br />designed earthen water impoundment dikes including a radial gate dam structure which <br />regulates river flows from a 103-square mile drainage basin for the Fish and Wildlife Service in <br />the S~erburne Wildlife Refuge. He has been involved with drop shaft construction through the <br />metr~Platteville Limestone formation and tunnel design in the Saint Peter Sandstone formation <br />as well as with soft earth tunnel designs. <br /> <br />Specihlized projects include the Lake Gervais Sanitary Sewer Interceptor project consisting of <br />five r~aches of softground tunneling, three barrel inverted siphon installed underwater on piling, <br />flow metering station, 2.5 miles of 60-inch gravity sewer. <br /> <br />Othe~ related projects include Coon Rapids Sanitary Sewer Trunk 9E, lift station design and <br />telemetry control systems, storm sewer trunk systems up to 96-inch diameter, comprehensive <br />wate~ studies, water wells and pump houses, river crossings for utility pipes, reinforced earth <br />retaiOing walls and many engineering studies for developments in'eluding the 600-acre Elm <br />Creek Project in Champlin and the 1,000-acre Federal Cartridge Corporation Master <br />Development Plan in Coon Rapids. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ! <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
