Ba~ed on our survey of the area, we found a blockage of the
natural drainageway approximately 250 feet south of !56th
Avenue. Apparently the landowner constructed a driveway

across the low area and did not install a culvert. This has
resulted in an increase in water levels by two feet. We also
surveyed the entire drainage ditch as shown on Exhibit B and
found that there is a drop of approximately 15 inches from the
westerly culvert across !56th Avenue to the culver~ at the
intersection of Hematite Street. By installing a driveway
culvert and completing minor grading along the existing ditch,
the drainage outlet to this area can be restored.

iii. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

Due to the limited scope of the feasibility, a hydraulic
analysis of the area nor peak rates of discharge were not
dete_--mined. The main scope of ~he study was to dete_~-mine a
method of providing a drainage outlet for the area adjacent
to !56th Avenue lying east of Ramsey Boulevard. This was done
by su_~veying the existing ditch south of !56th Avenue and
locating the blockages in the natural flow.
