Councilmember Beyer stated she would like to see some things amended in the
organizational chart; however, after a conversation with Councilmember Beahen where she
suggested that Council as a group sit down and discuss and rearrange and change things,
Coancitmember Beyer felt it would make sense to wait a month or so before doing
any~ing like that.

Co~ncilmember Beahen inquired the time frame Mr. Schroeder was es~mating for the new
per~on to be on board prior to reviewing the chart.

Mr. Schroeder felt that three to four months should be sufficient.

I
I
I
I'
I

CoUncitmember Beyer suggested reviewing the chart in June or July.

C°Uncilmember Beahen stated that would allow time to gather information about the
organization. She stated she does not want to make changes in piecemeal, and that changes
made should be right for everyone.

Councilmember Beyer agreed.

Mayor Hardin also agreed.

COuncilmember Beyer inquired if the City currently has a policy about who a person
s~uld report to in the event that their supervisor leaves.

Mr. Schroeder stated that there is not really a written policy. We have basically reacted to
the situation and carboned Council about the changes.

Councilmember Beyer felt that any reassignment of reporting should come to the Personnel
Committee for approval as well as Council. She mentioned that there has been some
c~ange with regard to reporting (due to Ms. McAloney leaving) that didn't come to
-O_ouncil.
.-
~. Schroeder informed Councilmember Beyer that it had been discussed.

~ouncilmember Beyer stated there should be a written policy of how these duties are
structured in the interim.

Mayor Hardin stated that each situation will be different. If there is a written policy, it
Would have to be extremely vague.

~ouncilmember Beyer reiterated that these changes should have had full Council approval.
~ayor Hardin stated that it had been discussed, as did Councilmember Beahen.
Councilmember Beyer decided that she must have been absent when it was discussed.

'Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Mayor Hardin to table action on the
_Organizational chart until June or July.

:Motion carried.
~o: None.

Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Beahen and Beyer.
