Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman and Hardin. <br /> ~x>ting No: ~one. <br /> Case~,: Status of the Patrol Officer Hiring <br /> Adminis~atiX}e Services Manager McAIoney stated that the City has received 68 <br /> applieations~,>r the position of Patrol Officer. Twenty-eight of them did not meet the <br /> minimum qu~li0cafions of a full-time law enforcement license or two years full-time <br /> licensed law i~nro[cement experience. Thirty-four of the applicants met the minimum <br /> qualifications: and'sqored between 60 and 90 on a 100-point veteran's preference scale. <br /> Ms. McAlonOy state2txshe would be conducting the interviews along with Police Chief <br /> Auspos, Serg, ;ant Gusthfson and two of the Police Officers. There have been interviews <br /> scheduled fm 33 individXa,als and the top five or ten scoring persons will be sent for a <br /> pass/fail phys :cal agility tegt,.through Anoka County. Those passing will have a second <br /> interview witt the above-mentioned interviewing panel plus City Administrator Schroeder. <br /> The Police Cl~ief and City Act~,nistrator will make a recommendation to the Personnel <br /> Committee wl~en the interviewingh .as been completed. Ms. MeAloney mentioned that the <br /> City will hope~lly have a list from th'e4~ interviews to keep for future hires. <br /> Councilmemb~r Hardin inquired ff there ~..any problems with keeping a list as opposed to <br /> advertising ea{h time. % ' <br /> <br /> MS. McAlone~ replied that the list can be kept fotx~p to one year. <br /> Upon inquiry,i Ms. McAloney stated that the intent'i~, to have the officer hired about the <br /> 15th of January 1995, or before. She stated that this'~.ase is for informational purposes <br /> only, no acfiofl is neces, sary. <br /> Case #3: !Probataonary Performance Evaluation oh, Patrol Officer Bradley <br /> iPaplham <br /> <br /> The discussio~i of this case was closed to all but the Committee, th'oxCity Administrator, <br /> Police Chief, p,.olice Sergeant, and Administrative Services Manager. <br /> The regular m~ting reconvened at 6:22 p.m. <br /> <br /> Motion by Co~eilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Mayor Crilbertson to r~qommend <br /> to City Council that Bradley Pap]ham be retained as a full-time regular employee,~ff, ecfive <br /> December 31, !1994. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Zimmerman and HardihX <br /> Voting No: N~)ne. <br /> <br /> Case #4: 3Education Policy/Tuition Reimbursement <br /> AdministrafivqServices McAIoney stated that at the last Personnel Committee meeting she <br /> was clirected tq5 bring back the education policy. She stated that she bold-typed what she <br /> added and used the strike-out for deletions. ' <br /> <br /> Councilmemb&r Hardin stated that there has been a recommendation that Council meet <br /> sometime to renew policies, etc. He recommended tabling any action on this item for now <br /> and bring it u~ for discussion at a workshop in January or February.
