EDUCATION POLICY/TUITION REIMBURSEMENT <br /> : <br /> <br />It is the intent of the City of Ramsey to provide the citizens of Ramsey with a well quatified <br />and b'ained staff. As such, annually, the City Council shall provide for an education and <br />training program and budget which provides: <br /> <br />1) Job-related, position-specific training approved by the Department Head and City <br /> Administrator, having received prior Council budget appropriation, and deemed <br /> necessary to effectively complete the requirements of the position. <br /> <br />2) !~ <br /> <br />4)¸ <br /> <br />Payment for, or reimbursement of, any and all training required by the City of <br />Ramsey to attain or maintain job-related certification. <br /> <br />Reimbursement for 00r~0% of the cost of tuition and books of college level <br />courses which the Council deems are job-related and are a benefit to the employer <br />upon satisfactory completion (receipt of C or better). <br />Reimbursement shall only be made for accredited classes at an accredited education <br />institution. Reimbursement cost will be determined using the State University <br />System for persons attending a private college. Reimbursement shall be made only <br />if pr-e-approved through the annual budget process and shall not exceed 16 credit <br />hours in any single 12-month period. Flstroaetive reimbursement <br />may occur if approved by Council for the subsequent <br />budget year for classes starting 1/1/96 and after. <br /> <br /> Conference and seminar training shall provide for meals and todgin.g,.if necessary, <br /> for in-state and out-of-state training. Travel expenses for in-state training shall also <br /> be provided through the budget process. Travel expenses shall ~tot be provided for <br /> out-of-state training with prior Council approval. <br /> <br />It is the expectation of the City of Ramsey that new hires come to the City and the position <br />fully qualified.
