line. This occurred about 4:00 pm when subscribers are getting home <br />from work, so the number of calls were high. <br /> <br />Cotten stated that the reports all look good. Meredith must be coming <br />on strong. He did comment on the 400% increase for CableCare. <br />Dormeliy-Cohen explained that subscribers can sign up for CableCare <br />on their bill or request it by phone. Meredith is still offering the service <br />to subscribers when they call for repair work. <br /> <br />The On-Time Guarantee is working excellent. For March there were <br />4,200 service calls, only 20 calls were paid for. <br /> <br />Universal Access will be available August 1, 1995. Meredith has <br />entered into an agreement with four of the franchises but still needs to <br />work with the other two. Any person who wants Universal Access <br />will need to call Meredith to have it installed. <br /> <br />Attendance to the Minnesota Telecom Conference <br /> <br />O'CormelI stated that last years conference was quite good and would <br />like to attend this year. He also suggested that some of the <br />Commissioners attend this year. There was some discussion regarding <br />the attendance of both days as the Thursday conference is the same day <br />as QCCCC May's meeting. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Nagel, seconded by M. Johnson to ALLOW <br />O'CONNELL AND ANY OF THE COMMISSIONERS TO ATTEND <br />THE TELECONFERENCE MAY 17 AND 18. <br /> <br />7 ayes - 0 nays. Motion carried. <br /> <br />It was decided that the May 18, 1995 meeting would start at 5:30 pm <br />instead of 5:00. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS - 7 <br /> <br />Renewal Update <br /> <br />O'Connelt included in the packets a progression list and approximate <br />time frames that will be needed for the franchise renewal.
