This <br />minimum 10 foot selSaration is for installation of traffic <br />control signs and to provide for a snow storage area. <br />Greater setback is desirable and should be provided where <br />ever possible. <br /> <br />Where bikeways are added to existing sections, the inslope <br />on the roadway shall not be greater than 1 foot in 4 feet. <br />For new construction, the inslope on the roadway shall not be <br />greater than the appropriate design slope for the roadway <br />under consideration. This slope is generally 1 foot in 4 feet <br />or 1 foot in 6 feet depending on the funding utilized for the <br />project. <br /> <br />g) <br /> <br />Where bikeway and parkwvay bridges are desirable, the bridge <br />construction shall meet the applicable standards as set forth ' <br />in the Bikeway Design Manual dated February 8, 1983 (or <br />subsequent edition), and shall be paid for by the local unit of <br />government requesting the construction of the bridge. <br /> <br />h) <br /> <br />Where these standards cannot be met, the local unit of <br />government will be responsible for providing protective devices <br />to separate the bikeways from the travelled portion of the <br />roadway in accordance with the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation Bikeway Design Manual dated February 8, <br />1983 (or subsequent edition). <br /> <br />Ail plans for construction of bikeways and/or parkw,,ays must <br />be approved by the Anoka County Ialighway Department prior <br />to their construction and a permit issued by the Anoka County <br />Highway Department will be required of the contractor <br />actually constructing the bikeway and/or parkway. (See <br />Permit Policy.) <br /> <br />J) <br /> <br />In locations where bikeways and/or parkways currently exist <br />along the Anoka County l~ight-of-Way, said facility will be <br />replaced inkind when the roadway is reconstructed at the <br />direction and expense of the Anoka County Highway <br />Department. <br /> <br />k) <br /> <br />Maintenance costs and snow removal costs from ail bikeways <br />and walkways within Anoka County and located on county - <br />roads or county state aid highways, shall be borne by the cities <br />and/or townships thru which those facilities exist. In addition, <br />the cities and/or townships shall be responsible to see that said <br />maintenance and/or snow removal is accomplished. <br /> <br />This policy is hereby dated the 10th day of February, 1992. <br /> <br />Revised March 13, 1992 <br /> <br /> <br />
