Goodrich, City Attorney <br />Data Practices Responsible Authority <br />June 13, 1994 <br /> <br />At a recent City Attorney's Seminar and now I note in the Minnesota <br />League of Cities publication the issue of appoint_merit of a <br />responsible authority ~or administrating the Minnesota Data <br />Practices Act has arisen. ! a~ not certain how Ra~sey handles <br />this, but at one point I think we were simply appointing a positio~ <br />as opposed to a p¢rson. The Minnesota Data Practices Act requires <br />that a city must appoint a responsible authority by resolution and <br />must provide to anyone who asks for it, the name, title and address <br />of the responsible authority. I know that we have complied in <br />general with this but I want to make certain that we actually do <br />appoint a person as opposed to a titled position.
