this alignment is approximateiy .80 acres. A permit to alter the wetlands will be obtained
from the DNR prior to the construction of the prqiect. This will be in addition to the
permits listed in item B that wilt be acquired. As p~t of thc pc~it, thc City will have to
~figa~c the loss of thc `*,efi~ds. The contractor will ~ r~uired to comp}y with an erosion
and sedimen~ control plan tominimize disturbance of the adjoimn~ wetland areas. Also,
thc contractor `*,ill be required to adhere to a least damage schedule minimizJn~ .impacts on
witdlif¢ du~ng thc nesting sgason.

Surface Water Qu',dity

Surface water runoff from the projec~ `*'ill rio,.,,' into the wetlands through the storm sewer
system. The outlets of this drainage system will include skimmers in retention basins to
allow for the removai of silt and suspended sol_ids. The wetlands that do not haw a natural
outle.'s `*,il] allow the runoff to percolate into the ~ound water. Erosion control measures
will be adhered to dunng construction and all disturbed ar:as will be landscaped and
vegebative cover `*,ill b: maintained to prevent subsequent erosion.

Air Pol}ution, Dust and Noise

Dust, air and noise impacts will occur during consu-uction. Dust control measures ',,,,ill be
used when needed and hours of construction operation ',,itl be limited through contract
requirements to minimize noise impacts. The long term impacts on air quality should be
positive since the road alignmem wilt reduce wave} time on City streets. Noise levels
associated with 40 m.p.h, traffic are within acceptable levels.

Fish and Wildlife

Approximately 3.5 acres of wooded cover will be removed for the construction of the
roadway. Additional).,,,, another 6.75 acres of grassland will be disrupted. The road
project will also impact an addinonat .80 acres of b,peJII wetland. With the completion of
the project, the CiU' will see a loss of 6.3 acres of various habitats. This `*,ill be somewhat
offset by the ruff restoration within the right-of-way.

Archaeological and ,Historical Resources

The proposed project has a probability of containing prehistoric archaeological sites.
Therefore, an archaeological survey has been completed with a negative finding of
archaeological sites.

Parks and Speci~ Resource Areas

Construction of this project veil] not create any adverse impacts on parks or special resource
areas. Approximately .80 acres of wetland `*,ill be filled. The impact of the action will be
mi fig ate&

Roads and Traffic

The average daily n-affic (ADT) flows for the area affected bv the proposed extension of
Sunwood Drive N.\\.'. are estimated ~o be in excess of 5,0(50 at the completion of the
connection by the yea: 2010.
