Prepare final cost estimate: Construcfionlcost estimate spread sheets will be prepared using MN/DOT standard specifications bid items. The esiimate will be divided into major work item categories, listing quantifies and costs for each specific item: F. Solicit and. obtain bids: RLK will ass.~mble and distribute the bidding documents to alt prospective bidders. We will provide interpretatiorts and answer questions that the bidders may have regarding the plans and specifications. RLK will attend the pre-bid conference (if applicable) and also the bid opening. We will review the bids and make a r~ommendation for award. All bids will be reviewed and tabulated. G. Review shop drawings, change orders, prepare and certify payment requests: RLK will review and approve shop draxvings as required. The review will be completed on a timely manner so that the construction operations will not be delayed. If necessary, change orders will be prepared for (~hanges in scope of work. The City will be notified immediately of pending change orders so to receive theiCity's input to the change order. After a change is deemed necessal3', a written change order will be prepared for approval. On an agreediupon periodic basis, estimates of the value of work completed to date will be prepared indicating the approximately quantities of work completed under each item of work. A registered Professional engineer will be responsible for the completion of the above tasks. TASK 2 - TECHNICAL SERVICES ;" A. Provide construction staking and inspection: RLK will proVide construction inspection to insure that the sewer'and watermain are constructed in r acco dance to, the plans and specifications. Some of the important responsibilities and tasks of the inspection will be: Review the pr~ogress of the construction work and bring to attention of the contractor an), unsatisfactory or incomplete w6rk. Ensure that the contractor has the necessary traffic barricades, signs, and warning devices in place. Observe cons~ction operations and Schedule' compaction testing to insure that backfill material is' 'compacted to .,the acceptable density as specified in the .specifications. A "Weekly C0nstruction. Dial3, and Statement of Working Days" V;,ill be completed and submitted no later than five eale0dar days following,the work covered by the report. ,. RLK will hold weekly construction meetings with the contractor, subcontractors and other interested parties. This ~eeting will coordinate all construction activities and will insure that the construction proceeds at a ~oordinated schedule.-
