Prepare final cost estimate: <br /> <br />Construcfionlcost estimate spread sheets will be prepared using MN/DOT standard specifications bid <br />items. Solicit and. obtain bids: <br /> <br />RLK will ass.~mble and distribute the bidding documents to alt prospective bidders. We will provide <br />interpretatiorts and answer questions that the bidders may have regarding the plans and specifications. <br /> <br />RLK will attend the pre-bid conference (if applicable) and also the bid opening. We will review the bids <br />and make a r~ommendation for award. All bids will be reviewed and tabulated. <br /> <br />G. Review shop drawings, change orders, prepare and certify payment requests: <br /> <br />RLK will review and approve shop draxvings as required. The review will be completed on a timely <br />manner so that the construction operations will not be delayed. If necessary, change orders will be <br />prepared for (~hanges in scope of work. The City will be notified immediately of pending change orders so <br />to receive theiCity's input to the change order. After a change is deemed necessal3', a written change order <br />will be prepared for approval. <br /> <br />On an agreediupon periodic basis, estimates of the value of work completed to date will be prepared <br />indicating the approximately quantities of work completed under each item of work. <br /> <br />A registered Professional engineer will be responsible for the completion of the above tasks. <br />TASK 2 - TECHNICAL SERVICES ;" <br />A. Some of the important responsibilities and tasks of the <br />inspection will be: <br /> <br />Review the pr~ogress of the construction work and bring to attention of the contractor an), unsatisfactory or <br />incomplete w6rk. <br /> <br />Ensure that the contractor has the necessary traffic barricades, signs, and warning devices in place. <br /> <br />Observe cons~ction operations and Schedule' compaction testing to insure that backfill material is' <br />'compacted to .,the acceptable density as specified in the .specifications. <br /> <br />A "Weekly C0nstruction. Dial3, and Statement of Working Days" V;,ill be completed and submitted no later <br />than five eale0dar days following,the work covered by the report. ,. <br /> <br />RLK will hold weekly construction meetings with the contractor, subcontractors and other interested <br />parties. This ~eeting will coordinate all construction activities and will insure that the construction <br />proceeds at a ~oordinated schedule.- <br /> <br /> <br />
