Case #3: Report from Road and Bridge Committee

City Engineer Sankowski stated that the Roa~ and Bridge Committee discussed obtaining a
revised estimate for the cost of installing our priority street lights because Anoka Electricts
street light charges have changed over the last two years. With this updated information,
Staff will be able to formulate a plan to generate the necessary revenue to operate and install
these light. Mr. Jankowski reported that the Road and Bridge Committee also discussed
the two candidate projects a&iing additional mileage to our City's MSA system which were
submitted to MnDOT for their comments. He advised that MnDOT found the connection
from Highway #10 north to a non-existing segment of our MSA system acceptable, while
the second candidate project, the extension of McKinley Street east of Sunfish Lake
Boulevard and then north on the alignment of Tungsten Street to County Road #116, they
found unacceptable as County Road #116 is not on the MSA system. Mr. Jankowski
stated that the Road and Bridge Committee also discussed assessment procedures to be
used for the City's annual street maintenance program. He noted the Committee could not
reach a consensus, and Staff will continue investigating some alternative assessment
methods.

Councilmember Beyer noted the need for a street light at the intersection of County Road
#$ and Atari'itc Street N.W., and she was informed that it was noted on the priority list as
"Priority C - Desirable."

Mr. Jankowski added that all su:eets connecting with arterial streets are on the priority list,
but that the City has not yet been able to fund these except when they've received a
developer contribution.

Councilmember Beyer also noted she received an inquiry as to why there were no right mm
lanes on County Road #5 and suggested possibly requesting that the County paint right
mm lanes this spring.

It was suggested that possibly there were no right mm lanes 'due to the existence of the bike
lane, but Mr. Jankowski stated he would make an inquiry with the County.

Case g4: Report from Personnel Committee

City Administrator Schroeder reported on the items discussed at the Personnel Committee
meeting held earl/er this evening.

Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to approve the Pay
Equity Class Adjustments.

Motion carried.
