Amendment by Commissioner Terry and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to add <br />Finding of Fact 4/54 to read as follows: 'That Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. has <br />stated that no tire or fire product will remain on the site longer than six weeks. <br /> <br />Amendment carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Terry and Shumway. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and <br />Holm. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, Terry and <br />Shumway. Voting No: Commissioner Hendriksen. Absent: Commissioners Howell and <br />Holm. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich referred to Item #2 and noted that the phrase 'and processing operation' <br />should be deleted from the first sentence. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to amend <br />Item #2 in the proposed conditional use permit by deleting the phrase 'and processing <br />operation' from the first sentence. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, LaDue, <br />Shumway and Terry. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and Holm. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Terry to amend Item <br />#11, second paragraph to indicate 'no more than 60 tons' rather than '60 cubic yards' and <br />'no longer than 42 days' rather than 'no longer than 30 days'. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, LaDue, <br />Shumway and Terry. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Howell and Holm. <br /> <br />Douglas Fountain - 15255 Garnet Street - Inquired as to how long the 3200 gallons of <br />water stored on site would last in the event of fire. <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto replied that there was 2000 gallons of water being deposited on the <br />Andover fire per minute. It is not the intent to control a large fire at the Ramsey site with <br />water; a more effective fire control method is smothering with sand. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that Item #13 places the onous of pest control on the City; city staff does <br />not have expertise in the area of pest control. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto noted that the same language with regard to pest control was written into the <br />conditional use permit for vertical expansion of the landf'fll. <br /> <br />Planning & Zoning Commission/March 13, 1989 <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
