Absent: Commissioner Terry. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman adjourned the special meeting at 7:43 p.m. in order to conduct the <br />following public hearing: <br /> <br />Proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan and adoption of 4 in 40 Density <br />Zoning. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the special meeting back to order at 8:20 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Request For Site Plan Review Of Waltek, Inc.; Case Of John <br /> Belinski: <br /> <br />Mr. John Belinski was present representing Waltek, Inc. and explained the company's <br />immediate need to construct a 3,000 square foot building expansion. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the City Engineer's report dated November 16, <br />1989. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to recommend <br />that City Council approve Waltek, Inc.'s site plan to construct an expansion to an existing <br />building and waive the need for a 12 foot rear yard setback variance on the existing <br />structure as a pre-existing condition. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, Hendriksen, <br />Shumway, Bawden and Deemer. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Terry. <br /> <br />Case #2: Implementation Of "4 In 40 Zoning": <br /> <br />As a condition of Metropolitan Council's approval to expand the MUSA, the City is <br />required to implement "4 in 40" acre zoning. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to <br />recommend that City Council approve the proposed amendment to the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance regarding 4 in 40 density. <br /> <br />Planning & Zoning Commission/November 21, 1989 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
