There were a number of possibilities discussed briefly which included a Cable TV Club, <br />youth groups and community groups assisting with one program per month. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to direct <br />staff to prepare one cable TV program per month and initiate a Cable TV Club. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Peterson, DeLuca, Cich <br />and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Adopt Ordinance Establishing Controls on the Construction, <br /> Operation, Inspection, Monitoring and Maintenance of Solid <br /> Waste Disposal Facilities. <br /> <br />We are in a landfill siting process which was dictated by the Solid Waste Act of 1980. The <br />act provides that a local unit of government may exercise reasonable control respecting the <br />construction, operation, inspection, monitoring and maintenance of disposal facilities. City <br />Attorney Bill Goodrich noted that this would be an amendment to the zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Ordinance g90-3 amending Chapter 170.01 establishing controls on the construction, <br />operation, inspection, monitoring and maintenance of solid waste disposal facilities. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called for a roll call vote. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann: Aye <br />Councilmember Cich: Aye <br />Councilmember DeLuca: Aye <br />Councilmember Pearson: Aye <br />Councilmember Peterson: Abstain <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Case #13: Opportunity for Ramsey Businesses at the Green Business <br /> Expo in Conjunction with 1990 Arbor Events. <br /> <br />As part of the 1990 Arbor Events, the annual tree sale will take place on Saturday, April <br />28, 1990. In conjunction with the nursery vendor that offers trees and shrubs, the intent of <br />a Green Business Expo is to focus seasonal attention on those Ramsey Businesses that <br />offer products and services pertaining to garden, yard and trees. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to direct staff to <br />coordinate a Green Business Expo in conjunction with the Annual Tree Sale and set up <br />educational displays at Ramsey Municipal Center. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
