Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to direct <br />City Staff to schedule a public hearing for Tuesday, May 29, 1990 at 6:30 p.m. at the <br />Ramsey Elementary School gymnasium regarding adult entertainment centers. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #15: League Of Minnesota Cities 1990 Annual Conference For <br /> Council Members: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley requested Council approval to expend funds necessary to cover the cost of <br />Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson and Peterson and himself attending the 1990 annual <br />conference of the League of Minnesota Cities from June 12-15 in Duluth, Minnesota. Mr. <br />Hartley noted that a budget amendment will be submitted for Council approval once the <br />actual costs are realized. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to approve an <br />expenditure funds necessary for Councilmembers Pearson, Peterson and DeLuca and City <br />Administrator Hartley to attend the 1990 annual conference of the League of Minnesota <br />Cities. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #16: <br /> <br />Receive Report From Finance Officer Regarding Animal <br />Control Expenditures (Consent Agenda Item #18) And Receive <br />Report From Chief Of Police Regarding Animal Control <br />(Consent Agenda Item #19): <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann noted that Sandra Ashley's memo dated May 2, 1990 indicates that the <br />total cost increase for the current animal control contract over the previous is approximately <br />17%. Mike Auspos' memo dated May 2, 1990 suggests that addressing animal control <br />with a community service officer type position is the best way; but for now, contracting <br />with the Anoka County Humane Society is the most economical. <br /> <br />Mike Auspos noted that community service officers can be utilized by both the Community <br />Development Department and the Police Department to enforce other ordinances in addition <br />to addressing a community's animal control needs. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />22) Awarding Contract For The Decentralized Brush Chipping Program: <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann reopened the discussion on Consent Agenda Item #22 (Awarding Contract <br />for the decentralized brush chipping program) and inquired as to how the specs were <br />written and the basis for Staff's recommendation to award the bid to Asplundh Tree Expert <br />Company. <br /> <br />City Council/May 8, 1990 <br />Page 14 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
