202 1. Selective removal of natural vegetation is allowed. provided <br />203 that sufficient vegetative cover remains to screen cars. <br />204 dwellings and other structures when viewed from the water. <br />205 2. Clear cutting of natural vegetation is prohibited. <br />206 3. Natural vegetation shall be restored insofar as feasible after <br />207 anv construction proiect is completed to retard surface runoff <br />208 and soil erosion. <br />209 4. Additional provisions. <br />210 i. The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to <br />211 permitted uses that normally require the removal of <br />212 natural vegetation. <br />213 ii. Development shall be conducted so that the maximum <br />214 number of trees is preserved by the locating of structures <br />215 in existing cleared areas and natural clearing and the <br />216 utilization of other site design techniaues. <br />217 iii. Gradinci, contouring and paving shall be performed to <br />218 minimize anv detrimental affect on root zone aeration and <br />219 stability of existing trees. Existing trees shall be provided <br />220 with a watering area equal to at least one-half the crown <br />221 cover. <br />222 iv. When trees are removed. the permittee will restore the <br />223 density of trees, utilizing nursery stocks of a minimum of <br />224 13/4 inch diameter measured one foot above the around. <br />225 using species generally accepted as suitable for the <br />226 purpose to that which existed before the development <br />227 provided that in no case need the density exceed ten <br />228 trees per acre. <br />229 v. Development shall not reduce the existing crown cover <br />230 areater than 50 percent and shall be conducted in such a <br />231 manner as to preserve the understory and prevent litter. <br />232 vi. Trees used in reforestation or landscaping must be <br />233 compatible with the local landscape and climatic <br />234 conditions. <br />235 5. No on -site sewage disposal systems shall be allowed which <br />236 do not meet the reauirements of this Code. <br />237 6. No development shall be permitted on land having a slope in <br />238 excess of 45 percent. All very steep slopes (18 percent and <br />239 over) shall be protected.
