On:~_Ci~_._S_~aff !n~..s_tatus .._ <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Mr. David Hartley, the new City Aclninistrator has <br />accepted the City's contract for employment and will be coming on board <br />February 1, 1986. Mr. Goodrich stated that the contract approved by Council on <br />December 17, 1985 stated Mr. Hartley would receive $140/month for health <br />insurance. Mr. Goodrich inquired if Council intended the health insurance <br />benefit to remain at $140/month for the 3 year term of the contract or should <br />Mr. Hartley's health insurance be commensurate with other Administrative Staff <br />will be receiving during that 3 year period. <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Reimann stated that the Personnel Committee is recommending that <br />Mr. Hartley's health insurance benefits be commensurate with that of other <br />Administrative Staff. <br /> <br />Council consensus was to accept the recommendation of the Personnel Committee <br />regarding Mr. Hartley's health insurance benefits. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that the Personnel Committee has requested that language be <br />added to the employment agreement that will require the City Administrator to <br />set goals by which his employment performance can be judged. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~iber Cox and seconded by Mayor Heitman to approve the <br />employment agreement with Mr. David Hartley with the following amendments and <br />to authorize the Mayor to sign the same on behalf of the City of Ramsey: <br /> <br />Add the following language: '~he parties agree that the Employer <br />will establish goals in order to judge Employee's employment <br />performance. Based on Employee's performance, Employer may, in its <br />sole discretion consider merit pay and/or fringe benefits in addition <br />to those items as described heretofore in this agreement.' <br /> <br />2. ~hat health insurance benefits received during this 3 year period <br /> will be commensurate wi~h that being received by other City Staff. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
