Mr. Hartley stated that the status of the study for Ramsey (included with 105 other cities and 6 libraries) is that the provider consultant, Control Data Business Group, is still in the process of completing the study. ~l~e study includes a great deal of detail and there are several review groups that have to review it for accurateness. Mr. Hartley stated that he has a copy of a letter from Bill Joynes to Nina Rothchild requesting an extension of time to complete the study. Ms. McCulley - Inquired if the review groups are a p~rt of the Control Data Group and how much of a time extension has been requested. Mr. Hartley - Replied that Control Data is the technician and they have set up several employee groups throughout various cities to review the information. ~he letter did not indicate a specific extension time. Ms. McCulley - Inquired if Ramsey has established a timetable for implementation once the study is completed and if funds have been budgeted in the event there are inequities. Mr. Hartley - Replied that the City has not established a timetable; the timetable will depend on the results of the study. Mayor Heitman - Stated that the budget does not provide for any corrections should the study show some inequities. ~he p~y equity study will most likely be a part of future Council agendas and city newsletters. Councilmember Cox inquired as to why out of 855 Minnesoa cities, 105 cities are apparently funding the study; the study is an example of another government created and funded project paid for by the taxpayers. Mr. Hartley - Replied that some communities chose to do their c~n study. Ramsey's choice was to go with a consultant in order to obtain a more detailed and complete study on a cost-shared basis. Mr. Allan Koenig of the Cemetery Committee and Pastor Dale Olson of Cross of Hope Lutheran Church were present. Mr. Koenig stated that the Cemetery Committee was directed to obtain price quotes for fencing the two cemeteries in Ramsey and look into the possibility of expanding those two cemeteries or acquiring additional land for a new cemetery. ~he Cemetery Committee was approached by Pastor Olson who stated that Cross of Hope owns a 10 acre parcel of land and the adjacent 10 acre parcel is for sale. Cross of Hope is suggesting that Ramsey purchase the adjacent 10 acre parcel and exchange the north half of that parcel for the February 25, 1986 Page 10 of 22
