Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Approval 0~ Response To Scoping Document For Site "P" EAW; <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley reviewed with Council the comments to the Environmental Assessment <br />Worksheet for Site P prepared by staff and to be presented at the public <br />hearing on July 1. <br /> <br />Merland Otto of Hakanson Anderson was present and stated that earlier in the <br />evening he attended the public hearing at Bunker Activity Center regarding Site <br />Q. In comparison, he feels Ramsey's presentation and comments are better <br />organized. The strategy to have all 3 inventory sites in Anoka County <br />eliminated was strengthened by comments made at tonight's hearing. There is <br />tremendous concern that Anoka County has already accepted more than it's fair <br />share of refuse. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that another disadvantage to the cities hosting <br />landfills is the amount of time and money spent on reports, studies and <br />presentations because they do host landfills. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that at the same time these comments are presented to Anoka <br />County, a letter will be sent to the Metro Council and the Environmental <br />Quality Board stating that Ramsey feels the proposed scope of the EIS is not <br />sufficient and that the responsible governmental unit and the proposing agency <br />(which are the same) may not share Ramsey's concerns. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Heitman and seconded by Councilmember Cox to approve the <br />comments responding to the draft scoping decision for the Site "P" EIS. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
