Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Peterson, <br />Pearson and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Redistricting Of Precincts/Polling Places: <br /> <br />Mr. Banwart stated that per Council direction, population numbers in voting precincts <br />have been researched and City Staff is recommending dividing Precincts I and 3 into lA, <br />lB, 3A and 3B. Mr. Banwart reported that there is also a need to acquire additional <br />voting booths, votomatic machines and demo machines; the City of Mound some equipment <br />available. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson directing <br />City Staff to intiate proceedings to divide Precinct #3 into #3A and #3B, using the <br />existing Elk River School District/Anoka-Hennepin School District boundary, and divide <br />Precinct #1 into #lA and #lB using Sunfish Lake Blvd. N.W. as the dividing line. <br />Further, that Precinct #3A would use the new Central Park Park Center as a polling <br />place and Precinct 3B would use the St. Anthony Gun Club; Precinct #lA would use the <br />Senior Citizen area in the lower level of the Ramsey Municipal Center as a polling place <br />and #lB would use Ramsey Elementary School. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, <br />Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson directing <br />City Staff to approach the City of Mound regarding the purchase of their voting <br />equipment. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, <br />Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: 153rd Avenue N.W. Railroad Crossing Agreement: <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the City has received agreements from Burlington Northern for <br />the railroad crossings at 153rd Avenue Northwest and the Puma Street crossing. <br />Mn/DOT has approved State Aid Funds for the 153rd Avenue crossing. Mr. Raatikka <br />recommended City Council approval of the agreements. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that Ramsey would have to acquire additional liability insurance for the <br />crossing at Puma because it is private and not covered under the City's public liability <br />insurance. Mr. Hartley stated that he will research the cost of insurance and options <br />before the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Reimann to authorize the <br />Mayor and City Administrator to enter into the Private Roadway and Crossing Agreement <br />with Burlington Northern Railroad and submit the required payment, subject to the <br />approval of the City Attorney. <br /> <br />City Council/January 24, 1989 <br /> Page 12 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
