Councilmember Peterson stated that he has also researched and all text books recommend <br />that speed control devices not he built into public streets; they are appropriate in mobile <br />home parks, parking lots, park accesses, etc. <br /> <br />Case #8: Appointment To Fire Board: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that Council recently adopted Ordinance #89-4 which re-established the <br />Fire Board and changed the membership to include a member from the community at large. <br />Mr. Hartley recommended that the Fire Board vacancy be advertised. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to advertise the <br />vacancy on the Fire Board in the Ramsey Resident. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Peterson stated that the Council should be filling that <br />Fire Board vacancy in June. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: Receive Bids For Central Park Turf Establishment And <br /> Irrigation Project; Improvement Project #89-3: <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the City received two bids for Improvement Project #89-3 and staff <br />is recommending award of the bid to Central Landscaping. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adopt <br />Resolution #89-04-68 accepting bids for the Central Park Turf Establishment and Irrigation <br />Project and awarding a contract to Central Landscaping for such improvement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Receive Bids For The River's Bend Park South Development <br /> Improvement Project #89-1: <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the City received 6 bids for Project #89-1; staff is recommending <br />receiving the bids and retaining the lowest 3 and deferring contract award until the County <br />and the Corps of Engineers resolve some issues conceming the Rum River Bridge project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adopt <br />Resolution #89-04-69 accepting bids for the River's Bend Park South Development, <br />retaining the 3 lowest bids and deferring awarding a contract for said improvement. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson.
