Case #17: Increment Pay Scale For The Volunteer Fire Department:

Mr. Hartley stated that the Fire Board has reviewed the increment pay scale for the Fire
Department and recommended Council approval of it.

Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt
Resolution #89-08-230 approving the increment pay scale for the Volunteer Fire
Department.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich
and Peterson. Voting No: None.

Case #18:

Grading And Excavating Conditional Use Permit Agreement;
Ramsey Center Partnership:

Mr. Goodrich reported that the grading and mining permit issued to Ramsey Center
Partnership for a site east of Hwy. #47 and north of 142nd Avenue has been revised to
comply with Ordinance #87-9. City Staff recommends approval of the revised grading and
excavating condtional use permit agreement.

Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to approve the
revised grading and excavating conditional use permit agreement for the Ramsey Center
Partnership and authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to execute the agreement.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich
and Peterson. Voting No: None.

Case #19: Purchase Of Trees For City And Tree City USA Certification:

Mr. Otto stated that the City has received a letter from Noble Nursery indicating the
availability of 2-4 inch diameter trees at a cost of $90/each, including planting; City Staff
has obtained bids from other nurseries and Noble's price of $90/each represents a
considerable savings; the City could easily use 200 trees for placement at City parks. Mr.
Otto noted that the $90 price does not include staking or mulching; Noble will stake the
trees for $10-$20 each; the City has plenty of woodchips available to used as mulch.

Mr. Hartley noted that the maximum expenditure allowed without advertising for bids is
$15,000.

Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to adopt
Resolution #89-08-231 receiving bids and awarding contract to Noble Nursery for the
purchase of trees in an amount not to exceed $14,999.99.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich
and Peterson. Voting No: None.

City Council/August 22, 1989
