SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey has a group of established community service organizations. A few of the <br />youth organizalions are: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Ramsey Youth Athletic Association, and <br />Community Education. Some of the Adult organizations include the Jaycees, Lions Club, Saddle <br />Club, and Ramsey Senior Citizens. <br /> <br />FINANCE <br /> <br />There is one bank in the City, The Northern Bank of Ramsey with assets of $76,017,221.00. <br />Other area banks available to Ramsey residents are First National Bank of Anoka with assets of <br />$243,000,000.00; TCF Anoka with assets of $92,700,000.00; Bank of Elk River with assets <br />of $54,102,000; and First National Bank of Elk River with assets of $80,667,000. <br /> <br />The institutions listed above lend assistance in the areas of industrial, consumer and home <br />financing markets. <br /> <br />Development incentives and available funds include a local development corporation that can <br />issue revolving loans up to $40,000. Also, the Small Business Administration 504 Loan <br />Program is available. This program offers long term financing for fixed assets and capital <br />investments. In addition, the City uses Tax Increment Financing and industrial Revenue Bonds <br />for eligible projects. <br /> <br />LOCAL EMPLOYERS <br /> <br />Ramsey has a wide range of employers in the area including a growing market in the <br />co~nplementary/support industries such as machine shops, assembly, car lots, and similar <br />light industries. Foundry Investments 52 <br />McDuffs Eatery & Pub Services: Food/Beverage 42 <br /> <br />POPULATION COMPOSITION <br /> <br />The population of the City increased nearly 450% in the 1970's and is presently stabilized in <br />the most recent 10 years. This slow down in growth is due to an overall population aging in the <br />metropolitan area that creates an area-wide slow down in growth. The Metropolitan Council <br />demographer projects Ramsey population will continue to increase at a consistent rate. The <br />Metropolitan Council projections have the population in the year 1990 to be 13,293 and in the <br />year 2000 to be 14,790. Projections are considered to be Iow estimates by the Metropolitan <br /> <br />15' <br /> <br /> <br />
