In past history, the County has had a slightly diminishing per capita income rate when
comparing it to the State's overall per capita income. One reason for this could E~e the rapid
growth of the community, and the method of calculating per capita income, in contrast however,
as of 1984, Anoka County ranked within the top twelve counties in the State in median income.
Likewise, the City of Ramsey was second to Andover for the highest median income in the
County's larger cities in 1984 at $35,657. According to the 1980 census, the median income
for Anoka County was $23,394. In 1983, the median income was $30,068. Between 1979 and
1983, median income for the County grew by 27.4 percent.

'Source: Regional Economics Information System Bureau of Economic Analysis U.S. Department
of Commerce

RAMSEY AREA LABOR SURVEY

Question Sa, Skills

PROFESSION

NUMBER OF
PEOPLE

PROFESSION

NUMBER OF
PEOPLE

Accountant 2 3 Homemaker 4 3
Beautician 4 Inspector 2
Buyer/Whole Sale 6 Maintenance 1 5
Carpenter 2 0 Management 3 7
Cashier 7 Mechanic 1 3
Clerical 3 9 Personnel 3
Computer Op./Pro. 2 5 Post Office 2
Construction 2 7 Printer 5
Consultant 7 Retired 1 0
Counselor 5 Sales 6 3
Customer Service 2 Secretarial 4 9
Delivery 4 Small Business 1 2
Doctor/Dentist 4 Social Work 1
Drafting 3 Supervisor 1 7
Educalion 5 2 Student 5
Electrical Engineer 2 0 Technical Writer 4
Engineering 1 8 Truck Driver 1 2
Factory 2 1 Warehouse 5
Financial Services 1 8 Other 2 9
Food Service 2 1 No Response 8 7
Health Care 43

AVERAGE WAGE RATE OF VARIOUS AREA OCCUPATIONS

OCCUPATION OR JOB TITLE
TRUCKING / WAREHOUSING
MFG.-NON-ELEC.
