5) <br /> <br />6) <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />S) <br /> <br />9) <br /> <br />ii) <br /> <br />12) <br /> <br />Surface water drainage shall be provided away from <br />sidewalks with shallow drainage swales or ditches, <br />culverts, and/or storm sewer as required. Subgrade of <br />sidewalk to be a minimum of two (2) feet above water <br />table. <br /> <br />Sharp or sudden changes in horizontal and vertical <br />alignment shall be avoided. <br /> <br />Minimum standards shall be increased as necessary where <br />required by poor subgrade soil, traffic volumes, hazardous <br />conditions, or other special circumstances. <br /> <br />For drainage purposes, 1.0% preferred minimum slope; not <br />less than 0.5% slope are to be used. .~ <br /> <br />Proposed trails along County and State highways shall meet <br />the requirements of each of the respective governing <br />bodies. <br /> <br />Clearance for vertical obstructions (trees, power po~es, <br />signs, etc.) shall be provided with a four foot preferred <br />minimum, two foot absolute minimum for bicycle facilities. <br /> <br />Boulevards shall be shaped and graded to match street <br />slope. <br /> <br />Slope towards curb shall be a minimum 0.02'/foot; maximum, <br />0.04'/foot. <br /> <br />Install signs and markers in accordance with Manual of <br />Uniform Traffic Control Devices, most recent edition. <br /> <br />B. Additional minimum requirements for concrete sidewalks. <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />Sidewalk on City streets shall be constructed of concrete <br />pursuant to Engineering Department requirements. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Sidewalks on county and State roads shall be constructed <br />of bituminous pursuant to Engineering Department <br />requirements. <br /> <br />The location of residential sidewalks shall be 9 feet from <br />the back of the curb or edge of pavement to inside edge of <br />sidewalk. An 8 foot wide commercial/industrial sidewalk <br />shall be located four feet from the back of the curb to <br />the inside edge of the sidewalk. Any deviation from the <br />guidelines shall require City approval. <br /> <br />~) <br /> <br />Concrete sidewalks shall conform to the following <br />standards: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Concrete sidewalks'shall be constructed of 4" concrete <br />(3A 32) design with a minimum of 2'~ sand base. <br /> <br /> <br />
