The Planning & Zoning Commission also stated that Anoka County/Metropolitan
Council should assist in the trail's acquisition and the funding of trail improvements.
Furthermore, the City should receive assurance from the County that horses be allowed on those
portions of the trail corridor that are two tread and that motorized vehicles not be allowed at all on
the Mississippi River Trail Corridor System.

~?,ecorflrnendafions:

Staff recommends that Council approve a revised Mississippi River Trail Corridor map
indicating the preferred alignments as shown by the Anoka County Dept. of Parks and
Recreation.

Council Action'-

Motion to approve/not approve to the proposed Mississippi River Trail Corridor map and introduce
the amendment pursuant to recommendations offered by the Anoka County Dept. of Parks and
Recreation letter and attached map dated March 1, 1989.

Review Checklis~

City Administrator
City Attorney
City Engineer
Community Development Director

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Planning & Zoning Commission
Park & Recreation Commission
