Councilmember ~ introduced the following resolution and moved for its ado3tion: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #89-08- <br /> <br />REQUESTING DISTRICT V OF THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRAI'~SPORTATION <br />TO ERECT "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON HIGHWAY 10 WITHIN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the shoulders on Highway 10 Northwest in the Cily o4 Ramsey are <br />intended to be used only for emergency purposes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, motorist frequently park their vehicles on the shoulder while <br />shopping at businesses located along Highway 10 Northwest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the parking of said vehicles along Highway 10 Northwest <br />represents a potential tot great bodily harm and property damage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey desires to eliminate this potential of great <br />bodily harm and property damage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is actively working on the improvement of the <br />City image by improving the appearance of the Highway 10 Corridor area. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1 ) That the City hereby requests District V of the Minnesota Department of <br />Transpodation to erect "No Parking" signs on Highway 10 within the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> 2 ) That the Mayor, on behalf of the City, is authorized to communicate this <br />resolution to District V of the Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> <br />
