MISSISSIPPI RIVER BRIDGE CROSSING UPDATE By: Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director Status Report: During the last three months ending in July, 1989, Cily of Ramsey Staff has completed the lollowing tasks: 1) 2) 3) Layout of the Road and Bridge Corridor Writlen to and waiting for response from the City of Dayton regarding the Corridor Writlen to and have received a positive response from the Anoka County Department of Park and Recrealion regarding the Corridor Written to and have received a posilive response from the Anoka County Department of Transportation. We have received verbal commitments from Mr. Martin and Mr. Kurak to dedicate a Two Hundred Foot (200') wide right-of-way to facilitate road connections to the proposed bridge. Attached for your inlormation is a map from the recently completed Anoka County Comprehensive Transportation Plan which shows our proposed bridge crossing. The next steps towards the implementation of the proposed Mississippi River Bridge are as follows: 1) 2) 3) .4) 5) 6) 7) Acceptance and adoption of the proposed Bridge Corridor by both the City of Ramsey and the City of Dayton Acceptance of the proposed Corridor by the Hennepin County DOT. Establishment of center of right-of-way for the Anoha County portion of the Bridge Corridor. This will assist the City in it's efforts to work with affected property owners in negotiating right-of-way dedication/easements. Gaining support by Hennepin County Commissioners for acquisition of Dayton porticn of Bridge Corridor. This portion of the Corridor would be only from the Mississippi River to Dayton Road. Obtain needed environmental approval/design of Bridge. Lobby and obtain special legis[atior, for financing of the Bridge construction. Construct Bridge
