21. Maintenance Standards

None of the options for text in this section were selected. The consensus of the Task
Force was that it will develop its own maintenance standards that will be made available
to the public and will be applicable to trees on public property also. Development of this
maintenance manual will be a parking lot item for the committee.

22. Arborieultural Standards for Maintenance of Trees
This subject will be covered in the maintenance manual.

23. Pruning Palm Trees
This section is eliminated from Ramsey's draft ordinance.

24. Pruning Trees Over Streets and Sidewalks
This subject will be covered in the maintenance manual.

25. Minimum Clearance Over Street and Sidewalks
This subject will be covered in the maintenance manual.

26. Clearance Required From Utilities

This section will not be addressed in Ramsey's ordinance as it is addressed and enforced
by utility companies.

Consensus was that Items 27 through 32 dealing with notification to adjacent property owners of
maintenance activities will be merged into one section, will apply to tree on public property only,
and will be worked on at the next meeting.

ACTION ITEMS RESULTING FROM MEETING

· The next agenda should include discussion of another City Council update on the status of
the Task Force.

· Mr. Max to report back to the Committee on December 19, his findings resulting from his
meeting with Kunde Company regarding canopy cover performance standards.

· Environmental Specialist Bruce Bacon and Community Development Assistant Chris
Anderson should draft an application for the Releaf grant for the purpose of compiling a tree
inventory for Ramsey.
